The LUCERNE REGATTA on the Rotsee is a sporting highlight of international renown, where the world’s elite compete in thrilling races. Beyond elite sports, this long-standing event has a positive social impact by bringing people from different cultures together in a peaceful setting and promoting international understanding. Our event also enhances Lucerne’s image as a tourist destination and generates economic value throughout the region. At the same time, it is our top priority to ensure that the annual rowing regatta is held in harmony with the valuable Rotsee nature reserve.

SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT LUCERNE REGATTA

With the sustainability concept of the LUCERNE REGATTA, we want to create added value for the environment, the economy and the population and strive to keep negative effects to a minimum. The LUCERNE REGATTA uses the eventKIT (see link below) from the Swiss Association for Sustainable Events (SVNE) for ongoing optimization and reporting purposes.

We are part of the Swisstainable sustainability programme and have been classified at Level I – committed. The Swisstainable programme brings together businesses and organisations from across the Swiss tourism sector. Through our participation, we are committed to the continuous sustainable development of our organisation, actively pursue sustainability measures, and thereby make a tangible contribution to sustainable tourism in Switzerland.
