Victory Ceremonies

The victory ceremonies for the Final Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta will take place at the Boathouse on Tuesday, 21. May 2024 from 13h00 onwards. The crews that will qualifiy for the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be awarded (usually the first two crews). The victory ceremonies can be attended free of charge.

Thomas Keller Medal Award

The winner of the Thomas Keller Medal, the highest award in the world of rowing, will be awarded on Saturday, 25. May 2024, at 10h30 at the Boathouse. No ticket is needed to attend the ceremony, friends, family and guests are very welcome to join.

Arrival

  • FLIGHT

    The international airports of Zurich, Basel and Geneva are only a few hours’ drive from Lucerne. The fastest way to reach Lucerne is by direct SBB trains. If you are travelling by car from the airports, find some route suggestions below.

  • TRAIN

    Lucerne has excellent connections to the Swiss railway network. To get from Lucerne railway station to Rotsee, it is easiest to take the bus. You will find the bus timetable below.

  • BUS

    Various bus lines run from Lucerne railway station to the Rotsee.

    TO THE FINISH AREA
    Bus number 19 from bus terminal R direction “Friedental” until bus stop “Urnerhof” (13 minute walk to the finish area).
    Bus number 1 from bus terminal B direction “Ebikon” until bus stop “Luzern, Schlossberg” (15 minute walk to the finish area).

    TO THE ROWING CENTRE
    Bus number 1 from bus terminal B direction “Ebikon” until the bus stop “Luzern, Maihofmatte-Rotsee” (6 minute walk to the rowing centre).

    TO THE STARTING AREA
    Bus number 1 from bus terminal B direction “Ebikon” until the bus stop “Ebikon, Falken” (2 minute walk).

  • CAR

    FROM ZURICH
    From Zurich you can reach the Rotsee in about 50min. Take the Butzenbüelring to the A51. Then take the A4, E41 and A14 to Reusseggstrasse in Ebikon. Take exit 24-Rotsee. Then follow Reusseggstrasse, Sedel, Sedelstrasse and Sedelstrasse. Then turn into Friedentalstrasse.

    FROM BASEL
    From Basel you can reach the Rotsee in approx. 70min. From the Route Douanière de l’Aéroport à Bâle, take the A3 motorway to Basel. After approx. 4km keep right onto the A2 towards Luzern. Take exit 25-Emmen Süd. Then follow Reusseggstrasse, Sedel, Sedelstrasse and Sedelstrasse. Then turn into Friedentalstrasse.

    FROM GENEVA
    From Geneva you can reach the Rotsee in about 2.5 hours. From the Route de Pré-Bois take the A1 to Oftringen/Rotkreuz. Then keep right onto the A2 in the direction of Luzern. Take exit 25-Emmen Süd. Then follow Reusseggstrasse, Sedel, Sedelstrasse and Sedelstrasse. Then turn into Friedentalstrasse.

    FROM LUZERN
    From the station, cross the Seebrücke bridge. Use the middle lane to turn left towards Ebikon, onto Löwenstrasse. Then follow Zürichstrasse and turn into Vallasterstrasse. At the roundabout take the first exit into Friedentalstrasse.

    PARKING
    On Saturday and Sunday you can use the parking spaces of the Kantonsspital Luzern – car park east. The cost is CHF 5.00 per day. It is only a few minutes’ walk to the finish area. The way to the Rotsee is marked.

  • BICYCLE

    One of the best and easiest ways to get to Rotsee is by bicycle. Take your own bike or use a public bike sharing service such as “Nextbike” to get to Rotsee without worrying about parking or tickets.
