Precision, dynamism, and team spirit are the decisive key factors that determine victory or defeat on the Rotsee — just as they do in the elevator business, whether during installation or in service operations.
“With our proximity to the Rotsee and shared values, we’re very pleased to continue this partnership,” says Franz-Xaver Simmen, CEO of Schindler Elevators Ltd., commenting on the contract extension.
The next major highlight is already on the horizon in 2027, when the Rowing World Championships will take place on the Rotsee. Discussions about a potential involvement in the World Championships are ongoing.
“A World Championship right next to Schindler – that’s truly unique. It fits perfectly with our globally active company,” Simmen adds with enthusiasm.
Rowing has a strong presence within Schindler: Dragos Neagu, a two-time Olympian and silver medalist in 1988, is now a trainer at Schindler’s Lift Camp and knows what it means to compete on the Rotsee.
“The fact that my passion – rowing – and my long-time employer are joining forces is wonderful for me,” he says.
Mario Gyr, President of the organizing association of the LUCERNE REGATTA, is also delighted about the partnership extension:
“Rowing is as much a part of Lucerne as Schindler. Both have been based in Lucerne for well over 100 years and contribute to the region’s strong international reputation. That’s why it’s so great that we can continue to build on this successful partnership,” says the former top-level rower, who won Olympic gold in Rio in 2016.
